Springfield .410
8/28/2021
Danny Fairmount Georgia
Maker: Springfield Arms Company, Model: Unknown, Caliber: .410 Ga, Barrel Length: 26, Finish: Shotgun (Non-Military) - Rusty, SN: 3851
Markings: Rgt side bbl Patent Applied for Left side receiver Springfield Arms Company Chickopee Mass USA
Question: This is a single barrel 410ga that has a pushbutton release on the left side of the receiver to breach the barrel. Can you tell me what model it might be Any information you can share with me will be deeply appreciated. Respectfully Danny Elrod 8y8
Answer:
Danny, I do not have a lot of information on this firearm, it is probably one of a huge number made in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and sold through various retail outlets. This type of firearm falls into the category of ``old guns`` that no one seems to be interested in as shooters, but collectors do not want them either. Generally these were basic inexpensive simple guns which sold at modest prices and still have little interest or value on market today. On the retail market they usually sell in the $25-125 range depending on condition and general appearance for use as a ``wall hanger`` over a fireplace. Where there is any family history, we encourage people to keep these old guns for sentimental value. Please be warned that most of these are not considered safe to shoot.
Sorry for our lack of information, our main focus at FineOldGuns.com (OldGuns.net) is military firearms. We sometimes list sporting shotguns for sale in our catalogs but we do not have a lot of interest in collecting them and are by no means experts in this field. There are several dealers listed on our links page that specialize in shotguns who would be able to give you a better answer to your question. Marc

Marlin 22
8/24/2021
james Eau Claire
Maker: Marlin, Model: 39, Caliber: 22, Barrel Length: 24, Finish: Long Gun - Nickel, SN: S 12470
Markings: Star stamped on the tang takedown receiver and pistol grip Rocky Mt rear sight. Gold or brass bead on the front sight
Question: We wood like to know what the wood is made of. Also is it a chromed barrel or Nickle plated. We have contacted the Cody WY museum with no luck Marlins website with zero help and the Marlin forum which has its own issues. My fried paid about 400 bucks for it and he just wants to learn more about it. Thanks Jim Pederson
Answer:
Jim- Thanks for contacting Antique and Collectable Firearms and Militaria Headquarters.
Wish we could help, but we just don`t know much about Marlins to start with and every one of those details are totally outside our limited knowledge or meager reference library.
My guess is that the wood is walnut, and the finish is nickel, but strictly a guess based on those being the most common for all makers.
Here are a couple of forums where you will probably find someone who knows more than we do:

Good luck. Sorry we could not help.

Broomhandle And .30 Luger
8/17/2021
Scott Chicago
Maker: Mauser, Model: C96 Broomhandle Bolo, Caliber: .30 Luger, Barrel Length: 4.9 Inches, Finish: Handgun - Blue, SN: 653483
Markings: 697254 serial on hammer assembly
Question: This was sold to me as .30 Luger 7.65x21. The ammo is not ejecting. The case fits flush to the chamber. Is this normal for the extractor to work properly Do I need a new extractor or is the ammo supposed to be .30 Mauser which would protrude a bit from the chamber Any thoughts would be appreciated. So far I have not fired it.Thank you for your expertise.
Answer:
Hello Scott - due to liability concerns we can not answer questions of this type about the proper ammunition to use for a particular firearm. I think that you may benefit from a You Tube vid Small Arms of WWI Primer 09A*: Mauser C96: Italian Modello 1899. by C&Rsenal. Even though this vid is about the Italian Modello 1899, much of the information there will be relivent to your pistol as well. Another good source is Ian McCollum of forgottenweapons.com. I beleiev that Ian has several vids on this subject, click here to go to one of them that I found with a quick search. Hope that this helps, Marc

Win 77 Nickel Joshes Thoughts
8/7/2021
james ohio
Maker: Winchester, Model: 77, Caliber: .22, Barrel Length: 20, Finish: Other - Nickel, SN: NOT SERIALIZED
Markings: none to mention
Question: I am interested to know how many of the model 77s where nickel finished tube fed versions and if that makes it rare or more valuable.. condition is functional shooter with 13rd of the plating worn down but some sort of clear coat over it now i assume someone tried to protect the finish a bit longer.
Answer:
The Model 77 came from factory in two different variations, box magazine and tubular magazine. Of these variations there were two sub variations, standard grade and deluxe grade. We are unaware of any Model 77`s having a factory nickel plate. We have not had a Model 77 in quite some time, so we are unable to accurately gauge collector interest for this rifle. As always, condition and originality are the two main factors in determining value. Because your rifle has an after market finish that is beginning to fade, it would likely be valued in the area of a typical shooter grade 22. Josh

.32 Auto
8/3/2021
Neil Georgia
Maker: Sharp Shooter By Ojanguren Y Vidosa, Model: 7.6532cal, Caliber: .32caliber, Barrel Length: 3 Or4 Not Sure, Finish: Handgun - Rusty, SN: 10617
Markings: Has lion on the slide has a lion by the safety along with a crown over a shield with an x in the middle and the number 10617.also has cal 32 colt on the bottom of the clip.
Question: Would like to know all I can about this pistol such as how to clean the inside and outside of gun where to get another clip .what ammunition not to use and maybe a value of the pistol maybe some history on it
Answer:
Neil- Sorry, we cannot help on that one. 7.65mm is the European designation for the .32 Automatic Colt Pistol caliber which was widely used around the world. The name on the gun sounds like one of the Spanish makers, but I do not know any more than that. Some of the Spanish pistols are junk, others are fully equal in quality and safety to the best American makers, but I do not know which category this might fit into. John Spangler
